As part of their training, any operative working at height are taught to carry out a visual check of their equipment their equipment before each use to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and hasn’t been compromised in any way.
BS8437: 2005 states that formal inspection procedures should be put in place by employers to ensure that personal fall protection equipment is given a detailed inspection and examination by a competent person before first use and at intervals not exceeding 6 months (reduced to 3 months where the equipment is used in arduous or hazardous conditions), and after circumstances liable to have affected the integrity and safety of the equipment.
Following a successful service, your equipment will be returned to you with full inspection details, tags, serial numbers, advice, date of inspection and when the next one will be due.
If any or your equipment fails the servicing is is deemed unsafe or not fit for purpose, we will provide a report of the issues and we will offer you a suitable replacement to buy from our stock of products.
